Questions & answers

Everything owners ask us, answered plainly.

If your question isn’t here, it’s probably in the Knowledge Center — and if it isn’t there either, asking us directly is free and obligates you to nothing.

About us

Who is Eldorado Mineral Partners?

A private, family-office buyer of oil and gas mineral and royalty interests, headquartered in Denver and Cleveland. We buy across the Rockies — North Dakota to New Mexico — and Ohio, for our own portfolio: no brokering, no flipping your file. We’re the sister firm of Sagebrush Mineral Group.

Are you brokers? Will my information get shopped around?

No and no. We are the end buyer — your file is read by the person who values it and never sold, shared, or marketed to anyone else. Everything you tell us stays confidential whether or not we ever do business.

Why don’t you list an office address?

We work by phone, email, and — when owners want it — in person over a kitchen table or a cup of coffee. We’re headquartered in Denver and Cleveland, and meeting face to face is always an option; a lobby just isn’t how this business actually gets done.

Offers and value

How do you decide what my minerals are worth?

Courthouse title work, public well data, decline curves, and forward prices — assembled into a written offer that shows its assumptions: your acres, your decimal, the producing-versus-upside split, and the price deck behind the number. Our approach page walks through every step.

What does it cost me to get an offer?

Nothing, ever. The research, the title work, the walkthrough of what you own, and the written offer are all at our expense — and they’re yours to keep whether or not you sell. We only make money if we buy minerals at a price that works, and you only sell if the price works for you.

Does your offer expire?

Not on a countdown clock. The offer stands while the facts stand — prices and drilling activity can genuinely move a number over months, but we will never invent a deadline to rush you. If something changes, we’ll show you exactly what and why.

Will you tell me if I shouldn’t sell?

Yes, and we regularly do. If holding looks like the better path for your situation — durable wells, pending drilling nearby, no need for the capital — we’ll say so plainly. A meaningful share of our conversations end with “keep it,” and we consider those successes.

The process

What do I need to get started?

A county and a family name is genuinely enough. Old leases, division orders, or check stubs speed things up, but we’ve built complete pictures from far less — the records work is ours to do, at our cost.

How long does it all take?

Research typically runs a week or two; closings usually fund 30 to 45 days after a signed agreement. The step in the middle — your decision — takes exactly as long as you want it to.

Can I sell part and keep part?

Yes. Many families sell a portion — half the acres, or the producing wells while keeping the upside — and we price the pieces separately so you can see what each path looks like before choosing.

How does the money actually move?

Through a title company or escrow, wired at closing, with the deed and the funds exchanging together. Never a sight draft, never a check in the mail against a deed you’ve already signed — if any buyer proposes that, walk away.

Should my attorney or CPA be involved?

Please. We’ll answer their questions directly, provide every document they ask for, and wait while you get real advice — our offers are written to survive professional review, and the few hundred dollars of review time is well spent on a decision this size.

If you say no

What happens if I turn your offer down?

Nothing. You keep your minerals, you keep everything we explained about them, and you won’t hear from us again unless you reach out — no follow-up campaigns, no quarterly “checking in” calls. The door simply stays open.

Will talking to you put me on a mailing list?

No. We don’t run mailing campaigns, robocalls, or drip marketing — to you or anyone else. One conversation creates exactly one obligation, and it’s ours: to answer your questions honestly.

No pressure, ever

Whenever you’re ready — even if that’s never.

Most people who call us aren’t ready to sell. We’ll still tell you what you own, what it might be worth, and what we’d pay — then the next move is entirely yours.

No automated calls. No mailers with sight drafts. No follow-up unless you ask for it.
